WHAT PROBLEM WERE WE TRYING TO SOLVE?

Creating an online assessment was taking between 6 to 9 months, spanning from the initial research conducted by IO psychologists to the final development stage. This lengthy process compounded by a lack of consistency and the absence of reusable elements, hindered efficiency and increased time to market. This made it challenging to keep up with the assessment needs of our customers.

Our goal was to develop impactful assessments that are accessible to customers during the recruitment of new positions. We aimed to present the results in a clear and concise manner, enabling our clients to easily identify the most qualified candidates for their teams.

MY INVOLVEMENT

WHERE DID WE START?

In our efforts to design and create an effective online assessment builder, we encountered a lack of clarity regarding the existing process. To address this, we undertook thorough observations, conducted interviews, and documented each step involved.

 

This approach allowed us to gain a comprehensive understanding of the current practices and timelines involved.

We worked with the team to identify the key goals, components, and requirements needed for an online assessment builder.

DESIGN & VALIDATE

Facilitated multiple white boarding sessions with a cross-functional team to collaborate on ideas and sketch out options for dashboards.

​

Created wireframes and prototypes for testing with internal IO psychologists, product development teams, and external HR professionals. Revised wireframes based on usability testing and feedback. 

 

Partnered with product and development teams to create clear rules for how the system would work across all user types. 

  • IO psychologists who design and build the assessment.

  • Candidates who take the assessment as part of a job interview.

  • HR administrators who review the assessment to determine candidate fit.​

New online flow reduced design and development time by 6 months.
